Jennifer Tafoya is known for her clay vessels and also her amazing animal figures!  This is a larger piece of her pottery.  The entire piece is fully polished.  The jar is exceptional in design.  There are three bobcats etched into the clay. Each is realistic and note the detail on their fur!  There is a larger bobcat head in one section and the detail in the eyes is incredible!  Below the shoulder, the jar is highly polished and etched with a flowing avanyu and cherry blossoms.  The colorations on the avanyu are subtle but perfect for this piece.  All the various colors are derived from natural clay slips.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Jennifer Tafoya”.  Definitely an exceptional piece of her pottery art.  The last photos are of the jar in process.
