This is an intricately designed jar by Jennifer Tafoya.  Jennifer coil builds her pottery and then etches the designs into the surface.  This jar has two Great Horned Owls etched into the clay.  One owl is in flight and the other is on a post.  They are surrounded by traditional wind and lightning designs.  The jar has a lid that is sculpted into the shape of an owl!  All the various colors are from natural clay slips.  The jar and lid is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed, “Jennifer Tafoya”.
