This is a highly polished open bowl by Jennifer Tafoya. The bowl has a fully polished interior and a micaceous exterior.  Jennifer has etched into the bowl four koi along with cherry blossoms.  It is her perspective that makes this piece so striking.  It is as if you are looking down into a pond with three fish swimming around with floating blossoms  The highly polished surface has reflections as if you are looking into water!  All the fish and flowers are highlighted with natural clay slips.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Jennifer Tafoya”.  Jennifer continues to be one of the leading innovative potters working today!  She most recently won the “Tony Da Award” for innovative pottery at Santa Fe Indian Market in 2019 and “Best of Show” in 2023!
