$ 150.00

Joe Talachy (b. 1943) and Thelma Talachy (b. 1942) are two of the few potters from Pojoaque Pueblo in New Mexico.  Thelma is a sister of Minnie Vigil, Lois Gutierrez, and Gloria Garcia.  Their daughter, Melissa Talachy, is also a well-known potter.  Each piece is coil-built and painted with natural clay slips.  This bowl utilizes six different colors of clay to create the designs. The bowl has a series of interlocking clouds and rain patterns that spiral out from the center.  The design is tightly painted and the bowl was traditionally fired.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Joe & Thelma Talachy”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
