Joe Talachy (b. 1943) and Thelma Talachy (b. 1942) are two of the few potters from Pojoaque Pueblo in New Mexico.  Thelma is a sister of Minnie Vigil, Lois Gutierrez, and Gloria Garcia.  Their daughter, Melissa Talachy, is also a well-known potter.  Each piece is coil-built and painted with natural clay slips.  This bowl has a swirling sun design on the top. The rays of the sun are emanating out from the opening to the white mountains.  The bowl has four different colors of clay used for the designs.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Joe & Thelma Talachy”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
