This is an intricately designed bowl by Tom Tapia.  The bowl is round and fully polished.  It was fired a deep black and incised with designs. There is a feathered avayu encircling the bowl.  Below the avanyu are additional feathers.  There are two large medallions etched into the clay.  They are each incised with a large Mimbres-inspired turtle. The background area is highlighted with Tom’s signature pinkish-red clay.  The bowl is signed, “Tom Tapia”.   It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
