This is one of the few redward collaborative pieces we have had by Tom and Sue Tapia.  The jar was coil-built, carved, and polished by Sue Tapia.  Tom then etched the designs into the clay.  The neck is polished red, as are the four panels around the jar.  There is an avanyu etched into the clay around the neck.  Of the four panels, one has a very complex Sun Face. The others have a Hano Katsina, a Broadface Katsina, and a Hilili Katsina.  Each of the four scenes is intricate in design.  The jar was traditionally fired.  It is signed, “Tom & Sue Tapia”.   It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
