8"w x 7.5"h

$ 450.00

Leland Vallo was a son of noted potter, Marie Vallo, and the brother of Kim Vallo. He learned to make pottery from his mother and began making pottery in 1991. This is one of his few large pieces of pottery.  The jar is coil-built and has a high shoulder and elongated neck.  The neck and top of the shoulder are corrugated. The neck has a feather and rain design.  The shoulder has medallions with Mimbres lizards. They are surrounded by rain and plant designs.  The remainder of the jar is fully painted, and below the shoulder is a classic black-and-white Tularosa Swirl design.  The jar is signed on the bottom, “L.  Vallo”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
