This is a traditional bowl by Lorriane Williams.  It is a round bowl and has a cloud and mountain design around the rim.  There is a triple band representing a river.  Below are corrugated cloud patterns.  The bowl has been traditionally fired.  After the piece is fired it is covered in pinon pitch, which is typical of all traditional Navajo pottery harkening back to when it was utilitarian.   It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “LW”.  Lorraine has won numerous awards for her pottery and has been featured in books such as “A Legacy of Generations”.
