This is a classic small bowl by Maria Martinez. It was made and polished by Maria Martinez and it was painted by her daughter-in-law Santana. The bowl has a classic feather pattern, but note the symmetry of the feathers as they are painted on the surface. It was traditionally fired to a silvery-black coloration. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Marie + Santana”. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair. Definitely a classic!

The design is the classic feather pattern, but note the symmetry of the feathers as they are painted on the surface. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Marie + Santana”.
